The ongoing series Disrupted Painting examines self-organization and the emergence of complex forms through the interaction of water, pigments and chemical processes.
The works are created by pouring a thin layer of water and acrylic paint onto synthetic paper, followed by the scattering of chemical salts across the wet surface. As the mixture dries over several days, crystallization occurs. The salts absorb water from the pigments, altering natural flows and generating intricate, unpredictable textures that evoke both organic growth and structural constraint.
This process enacts the dynamics of disturbed natural ecosystems, where intervention and extraction disrupt fragile balances.
